That’s just a gratuitous old pic of our family Basset hound, Daisy aka the dog my brother and I spent my childhood and teen years with. She was a beautiful and seriously stubborn lady. You couldn’t get up from the couch without her moving into your spot while you were gone and then refusing to give it back (growling ensued if you even attempted it). She would lie sideways in front of the fireplace so no one could enjoy it as much as she did. She hated the rain and would maniacally zoomie around the house after being taken out in even the most delicate drizzle. Her 15 minutes of fame came when she was featured on one of David Letterman’s ‘Stupid Pet Tricks’ segments back in the ’80s. She didn’t do her trick right and gave a seriously underwhelming performance. It was disgraceful. So yes, she was amazing. Every time I see a Basset in person, I feel like I am seeing her. Anyway, just randomly wanted to pay tribute today. Good girl.
